KitchenAid stand mixers run on a packed grease reservoir inside the head. That grease is there to lubricate the gears and to keep oil where it belongs. After enough years and enough batches of dough, the grease separates, the gasket that seals the head hardens, and the oil finds its way out.
Once it starts leaking, running the mixer makes it worse. The gears lose lubrication, heat builds up, and what would have been a straightforward re-grease turns into a gear replacement.
This service is the fix. We take the head apart, clean every trace of the old grease out, replace the gasket, and pack it back up with fresh food-grade grease so it is safe around anything you are baking.

How do I know if my mixer is leaking or just dirty?
