Sometimes the symptoms do not line up neatly. The mixer might be dead on the bench, or noisy in a way that is hard to describe over the phone, or you have already been quoted for work you are not sure you need.
The diagnostic fee covers us opening the mixer up properly and telling you exactly what is wrong. It is $50, and that $50 comes off the price of any repair you decide to go ahead with.
If the honest answer is that the mixer is not worth repairing, we will tell you that instead of selling you a repair.
Common questions
Is the diagnostic fee refundable?
It is not refunded, but it is credited against any repair you go ahead with, so if we do the work the diagnostic effectively costs you nothing.
What if the mixer is not worth fixing?
Then you pay the diagnostic and we tell you honestly that it is time to replace it. We would rather lose a repair than take money for work that does not make sense.
